As onboarding franchisees, newcomers can expect full support from head office including several days of onsite training, tool training, and office training, fully preparing for the launch of their own Squarepegs operation. As well as strong support from Head Office, Squarepegs is proud to have formed its own exclusive group for other Squarepegs members to offer support and a sense of community. Finally, with robust local and national marketing assistance, franchisees can better delegate their time focused on staffing, administration and billable hours.

Squarepegs’ story starts several years ago when two likeminded individuals fell in love; each staying in Vancouver – one from Australia and the other from Alberta. The pair became inseparable, and it seemed only natural for Britten to make the move back home to Australia with Sean, who had, through working in marine carpentry, discovered a passion for tradesmanship during his time abroad. It was on their return however, that Britten began to notice a series of poor encounters with tradesman in Australia. Undermining her knowledge and input became a regular occurrence and with her passion for industry reform and Sean’s history of high quality craftmanship, the solution seemed clear. She quickly set about creating a female-led tradie business of her very own, focused on empowering women in their dealings with contractors and tradespeople completing renovations and remodels on their homes. Unsurprisingly, demand for the service was enormous and before long Squarepegs was servicing Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and beyond. Now, Britten is entering her fourth year of success and with ever increasing demand, she is enthusiastic to onboard passionate, energised franchisees, whose values align with the brand and are ready to be supported by a group of empowered women ready to reform and diversify industries across the country.
